Feedback

Today we showed our work to some of our class mates. I was a bit disappointed because I thought that the sound went very well with our scene and It looks nice and the scene flows but our friend actually made a point. In our production we try and educate a bit and a good way of doing this if our audience can relate to our characters. For example, like our friend said if a teenage girl is getting ready for a party and she is about to take drugs, we should put like a clubbing sound, something more exciting, more modern, something that our audience is likely to listen to. This was the point that our friend made and I think she is right. We are going to work a bit more on the sound and see if we can change it to something better.

  1. I agree with some of the comments after watching your edited shots merged with non-diagetic music. I think that you're music does need to be upbeat reflecting your protagonists mental and emotional state - she is looking forward to having a night out, her expectations are high, she is going to meet guys, have a laugh etc
I really enjoy the editing and think that the clips work well together with great transitions. I do think that the character should be more excited and generally, when getting ready for a night out people tend to be a bit more frantic and less calm - checking last minute things, making sure they have everything - especially your protagonists drugs - you could really emphasize this e.g. a prolonged shot to help the audience realise what she has in her hands you could even enhance this further via a change in tone in the non-diagetic music – possibly connoting that disequilibrium or a negative event will occur, I guess you could say this would be a slight form of foreshadowing. Just quickly going back to the music, you must be very selective of what you want to give the right effect. Overall I am impressed and hope for the best! Good luck!
